About me
My name is Alexander (Aleko) Mikaberidze and welcome to my web-site! The main goal of this site is to provide information about my native land, Georgia, to the English-speaking world. I hope you will find it interesting.
Briefly about myself - I received a degree in international law from Tbilisi State University and, after working for several years at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, I moved to the United States where I finished my doctorate in history at Florida State University. Since 2003, I worked at the Institute on Napoleon and the French Revolution and taught European and Middle Eastern histories at Florida State and Mississippi State Universities, and lectured on strategy and policy for the US Naval War College.
I currently work as Assistant Professor of European history at Louisiana State
University in Shreveport LA.
